Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson (Nueva York, 19 de junio de 1964),​ conocido como Boris Johnson, es un político y periodista británico. Fue líder del Partido Conservador y primer ministro del Reino Unido desde 2019 hasta 2022.​​

Fue alcalde de Londres desde 2008 hasta 2016. Se convirtió en una de las figuras prominentes a favor de la salida del Reino Unido de la Unión Europea (brexit), que sería la opción triunfadora en el referéndum de 2016. Inmediatamente y tras declinar su candidatura para suceder a David Cameron como líder del Partido Conservador y, por consiguiente, y para ser el nuevo primer ministro del Reino Unido,​ el 13 de julio de 2016 fue nombrado secretario de Estado para Relaciones Exteriores y de la Mancomunidad en el primer Gabinete formado por la entonces primera ministra, Theresa May.​

Cuando en 2019 May anunció su renuncia como líder del Partido Conservador, Johnson se postuló y ganó la elección partidaria. En las elecciones generales de 2019, Johnson llevó al Partido Conservador a su mayor victoria parlamentaria desde 1987, obteniendo el 43,6 % de los votos, el mayor porcentaje obtenido por algún partido desde 1979, ejerciendo en el cargo de primer ministro desde el 24 de julio de ese año. Bajo su gobierno se logró un acuerdo que permitió que el Brexit se concretase el 31 de enero de 2020.​

Tras una gran cantidad de escándalos dentro de su equipo de gobierno, Boris Johnson anunció su dimisión como líder del partido conservador el 7 de julio de 2022.​

El 19 de junio de 2023 la Cámara de los Comunes aprobó un informe que declaraba que Johnson en cinco ocasiones había mentido deliberadamente al Parlamento,​ una de las transgresiones más graves según el sistema Westminster de gobierno. Con la aprobación del informe Johnson perdió el derecho de entrar en el Parlamento en condición de exdiputado​ y de no haber renunciado habría sido suspendido por 90 días, además de tener que someterse a una elección especial en la que sus constituyentes decidirían si permanecía en su escaño.​

Caroline Louise Beavan Johnson (née Symonds; born 17 March 1988) is an English media consultant, a senior advisor to the ocean conservation charity Oceana, and a patron of the Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation. She is the third and current wife of politician Boris Johnson, who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party from 2019 to 2022.

Symonds was born due to an affair between her father, Matthew Symonds, co-founder of The Independent, and her mother, Josephine McAfee (née Lawrence), a lawyer, who were both married to other people at the time. Raised by her mother in East Sheen, south-west London, she was educated at Godolphin and Latymer School and the University of Warwick, from which she earned a degree in Art History and Theatre Studies. In 2009, she began working as a press officer for the Conservative Party and rose to become the party's head of communications in 2018. In the same year, she began an affair with Johnson, then serving as Foreign Secretary, while he was still married to his second wife, Marina Wheeler. Later that year, she left her role with the Conservative Party for a public relations job at Oceana. In July 2019, after Johnson became Prime Minister, she moved with him into the flat above 11 Downing Street, making her the first unmarried partner of a Prime Minister to officially reside in Downing Street.

In February 2020, after Johnson agreed a divorce settlement with Wheeler, Symonds announced that she and Johnson had become engaged in late 2019 and that she was pregnant. She gave birth to their first child in April 2020. In January 2021, she began working in a senior communications role at the Aspinall Foundation, a wildlife charity. She and Johnson married in May 2021 at Westminster Cathedral, and subsequently had three more children together.
